Frank McDowell - Appointed Trustee of London Citizens
Frank McDowell has recently accepted appointment as the Financial Trustee of London Citizens and also chairs the finance subcommittee.
London Citizens is a diverse alliance of active citizens and community leaders organising for change.
Members include faith groups, schools, student organisations, union branches and residents groups who share a commitment to action for the common good, and to nurturing leaders from all backgrounds.
This adds to Frank's existing trusteeship of
The Zacchaeus 2000 Trust,
a charity whose aims are connected to poverty relief.
Bandna
shines in exams
The
newest member of the LMG team has just discovered she has
passed the latest of her ACCA exams (Stage Two). Congratulations
to her and the result justifies all her hard work.
New
appointment at Linn Maggs Goldwin
During
an exceptionally busy time for Linn Maggs Goldwin, the managament
team are pleased to have appointed a bright economics graduate
to a trainee position at the practice.
Bandna
Mehra will assist our senior accountants with company account
preparation, audits, payrolls and VAT returns, with special
responsibility for company secretarial work.
Bandna
is being supported by LMG as she studies for her Association
of Certified and Chartered Accountants exams and we wish
her the best of luck as she awaits the first results of
her intermediate level exams.
Keith
Harbison Leaves LMG
Linn
Maggs Goldwin is losing the services of Keith Harbison.
Keith, a senior member of the LMG team for over two years,
has been part-time financial controller of one of our major
clients, which specialises in IT, hardware and networking
provision for large corporations.
The
rapid growth and success of the company means that they
now need a full-time in-house financial officer. Keith's
experience and expertise - and intimate knowledge of the
company - means he is their ideal candidate and LMG, reluctantly
but by mutual consent, is happy for him to take up their
client's offer of this position.
Paul
Goldwin, joint partner at LMG, said "Keith had to take
this opportunity and we all wish him well. However, with
LMG still providing auditing services, corporate taxation
and other advice to the company, we will remain in constant
contact with the company and Keith".
Keith
leaves at the end of August. We are currently finalising
arrangements with a new addition to the team, who will be
joining shortly afterwards to take over Keith's other responsibilities.
New
future for Linn Maggs Goldwin
After
a comprehensive review of Linn Maggs Goldwin activities,
it has been decided to restructure the management of the
practice. These changes are designed to help us develop
the range and quality of the business and corporate services
we offer our clients.
Following
this review, Roger Maggs has decided to retire from Linn
Maggs Goldwin. Shereena Nathwani will continue to service
the personal tax requirements of our clients, whilst Roger
will provide individual specialist consultation, when required.
Frank
McDowell now joins Paul Goldwin as Partner at Linn Maggs
Goldwin. Our established team of Keith Harbison, Paul Fryer,
and Shereena Nathwani will be also joined by Stephen Ooi,
a recently qualified accountant.
